- The real game note for this game was the incredible variety of flaking we saw. First, we had Alejandro with his typical "I'm going to sign up and then not show up because im sick" flake. We saw out first ever double flake, as Brian said we would play and leave early, then flaked at 4 am, then recommitted to playing after he woke up, and finally re-flaked. We also saw our first ever telephone flake, as Larry spoke to Wilson on the phone and said he was on his way. And finally, incredibly, our first ever reverse flake and Vicky and Chun showed up unannounced and gave us enough people to have a normal game. This new reverse flake finally gives us our answer to Alejandro
- Alejandro later showed up at Brian's birthday to party. I guess he had one of those 24 hour flake viruses
- Speaking of which, guys, are you going to Brians party?!?!
- Mark pitched a dominating 4 innings, allowing only 1 run, and was pulled with 1 out in the 5th having allowed just 1 hit. However, he also allowed 10 walks
- Reese is taking the early lead in the MVP race, reaching base in all 7 plate appearances
- Roger attempted to field a grounder by Wilson in the bottom of the 3rd, but ended up kicking it. Unfortunately for him, he was a baserunner and not a fielder. We have since learned that Wilson gets credit for a single for that
- Seriously guys, are you coming to the party?!?! Hurry up and get changed!!!
- Mike's attempts to sabotage the game by predicting rain were fruitless as the sun stayed out all day. However, the game was interrupted briefly on multiple occasions by sandstorms, which I would not be surprised to find out were somehow cause by Mike.
- There were only 7 K's combined in the entire game. Not a lot of spectacular fielding plays, but Justin had a nice sliding catch in right field, and John B had a couple of nice plays at first to save errors. Alvin also had some nice plays at first, including starting a 3-6 double play.
- Reverse flake Vicky ended up having a big impact, leading off the 8th with a single that started the tie breaking rally, and making a couple of plays at second
- Guys, hurry up! Happy hour prices end at 9 PM!
Also, Christos forgot to mention the biggest flake of all!
The rain! The whole week that bitch was like "oh shit, it's on, I'm gonna fall all over ya'lles and drip, drip, drip on your fuckin' face!...SATURDAY I'm comingggg!"
And then that fucker didn't show. The rain joins the Flake Hall of Fame. It joins a star-studded inaugural class with the likes of Alejandro, Brian's mom (says she's gonna come, but never does...unless it's with Jose), Jose C. when he has a girlfriend, Jose L's antibodies (that never allow him to heal) and Electricity in the Dominican Republic.
